Rocky Mountain Fireweed
“Rocky Mountain Fireweed” - captures one of those roadside pauses that stay with you long after the drive ends. Traveling the stretch between Jasper and Banff, I pulled over to take in this stunning view where the Bow River glows a rare turquoise beneath towering peaks. The mountains rise like carved stone guardians, layered in blues and greys, still holding onto traces of glacier ice. In the foreground, tall fireweed blazes in vibrant pinks—nature’s late-summer reminder that the Rockies are always shifting between seasons. The evergreens frame the valley perfectly, opening a window onto the water and the dramatic ridgelines beyond. It’s a scene that feels both wild and calm, a moment of stillness in the heart of some of Canada’s most iconic landscape.
