The Other Way

“The Other Way” - captures one of those quiet, unexpected moments on the mountain. The kind you don’t plan for but never forget. I was skiing the run this painting is named after at Sun Peaks Resort, wrapping up my last run of the day. The light was settling into that soft, late-afternoon gold, and something made me glance left. That’s when I saw this scene—frost-laden trees standing tall and silent, the snow glowing faintly under the fading sky, and the horizon brushed with pastel oranges and blues. It stopped me in my tracks. I actually hiked back uphill just to take it in properly. This painting feels like that pause: a reminder that some of the best moments on the mountain happen when you slow down, look around, and let the day say its last, beautiful word.
