Wild Lupins
“Wild Lupins” - is based on a split-second moment of awe. I was biking back from McGillivray Lake when the light suddenly poured through the forest, catching the lupins just right. I slammed on the brakes, jumped off my bike, and crouched down into the glow. The painting preserves that exact feeling — the warm, golden light filtering between tall pines, igniting the pinks and purples of the lupins as if they were lit from within. The low viewpoint keeps me right where I was: kneeling in the soft undergrowth, breathing in the forest air, heart still racing from the ride and the beauty of the moment. It’s a memory made vivid — that perfect pause on a summer trail where nature asked me to stop, look closer, and feel completely alive.
