“Spirit Island” — One of the most iconic places in the Canadian Rockies, and even more powerful in person. Standing on the shores of Maligne Lake, I felt the deep Indigenous significance of this place settle over me like the calm on the water. The turquoise lake, the towering peaks, and that tiny sacred island felt almost otherworldly. I felt incredibly lucky to witness a spot that carries so much history, meaning, and natural beauty.”
