Stepdown
“Stepdown” - A moment frozen at the edge of commitment. Stepdown captures that split second when I rolled up to the drop, heart thumping, tires humming, trying to convince myself I was ready. The forest around me glowed in the afternoon light, the trail curling away into the trees like an invitation I wasn’t sure I could accept. Staring over my front tire at the rocky lip, I took a deep breath, steadied my nerves, and let confidence slowly rise. This painting is that quiet, personal battle — the one between hesitation and courage — just before letting go and sending it.
