Sundown Worship
“Sundown Worship” - This painting captures one of those fleeting winter moments that almost don’t feel real—the kind you only witness if you’re lucky enough to look up at exactly the right time. I was inside the house when the sky suddenly began to glow, shifting through wild shades of pink, orange, and violet. The light was so intense it felt like the world outside was on fire with color. I dropped everything, grabbed my camera, and sprinted out the door into waist-deep powder. Each step was a slow-motion plunge, but I didn’t care—the sky was changing fast, and I knew I only had seconds. Two snow-laden evergreens framed the scene perfectly, almost like they were bowing toward the sun as it burned through the horizon. Their branches, heavy with fresh snow, caught the warm light and glowed softly against the vibrant sky behind them. The moment lasted only a breath before the colors began to fade—but this is the memory of that breath: quiet, breathtaking, and worth every freezing step through the deep snow to catch it.
